Building My Network
The majority of all job vacancies are filled via personal networks. Similarly, much business is conducted in this way. With the rise of online business and social networks, the importance of networking has never been so important. It is always faster, more convenient, and more trustworthy to have something done via an established network, than to go public.
As important as networks are today, as easy it is to establish a network, and to get in touch with others. Some of it may be done entirely online, although I prefer a more face-to-face approach. But even here, there are hundreds, perhaps thousands of sources and possibilities to get in touch with people, to attend conferences, special business or social oriented networking events, expatriate networking events, and so on.
Over time, I have recognized that networking counts for a large part of my success, it makes me more competitive, better informed, and it allows things to get done more quickly. Therefore, I have added ‘building my network’ as one of the 24 key commitments for building my wealth.
